Detroit Cocktail Camp: The Roaring 20s – 2nd Seating

January 18, 3:30—5:30 p.m.

Kick off the 2020s by throwing it back to the 1920s! This session will teach you to make some of the most iconic cocktails of the decade, led by Barter Detroit’s lead mixologist, Jennifer Sandella. All guests must be 21 years or older with a valid ID.

Dr. Sushi’s DIY Rolling Workshop

January 22, 6:30—8:30 p.m.

Students will learn how to make several different types of sushi rolls during this class taught by Dr. Sushi. Ingredients provided will be suitable for those with vegan, gluten-free or omnivore diets. At the end of the class, you will be able to enjoy the sushi rolls you made!

Vegan Baking Class at Nosh Pit for Veganuary (Nut Free)

Veganuary is a nonprofit based in the United Kingdom that encourages people to eat a plant-based diet for the month of January to spread awareness about vegan lifestyles. This class will cover gluten-free and vegan baking techniques for anyone looking to transition to a more plant-based diet — or even those who just want to learn how to make some vegan treats.

Pierogi Making 101

January 24 or 31, 6—10 p.m.
St. Peter and Paul Community Center, 3700 Gilbert St., Detroit

This class will teach you to make pierogi — that is, traditional Polish dumplings, traditionally stuffed with potato and cheese. Erica Pietrzyk of Pietrzyk Pierogi will teach you how to make dough and filling for traditional potato and cheese, and more.

Cost: $50, includes class, all materials and pierogi to take home

Pasta Workshop with SheWolf Pastaiolo, Seth High (feat. Marrow Ragu!)

January 25, 3—5 p.m.
Marrow Butcher Shop & Restaurant, 8044 Kercheval Ave., Detroit

This class will teach you the basics of pasta making, from choosing the right flour to rolling techniques, as well as how to cook and prepare your dish. It will be taught by SheWolf’s Seth High and Marrow’s Chris Demuth.

Cost: $75, includes class, pasta to take home, wine and house made Ragu sauce
